As Coachella Valley Canna Week approaches, conversations around cannabis education, health, and community engagement are taking center stage. On this episode of The Canna Boss Babes Podcast, Ishqa sits down with nurse, author, and cannabis educator Elisabeth Mack, who serves as Co-Chair of the Health & Wellness Committee for CVCAN (Coachella Valley Cannabis Alliance Network).
Elisabeth brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to the cannabis space and has dedicated the past decade to helping patients and communities better understand how cannabinoids interact with the body.
Through her work with CVCAN’s Health & Wellness Committee, Elisabeth is helping shape the educational programming that will be featured during Coachella Valley Canna Week, creating opportunities for the public to learn about cannabis, wellness, and responsible use.

Bringing Cannabis Education to Coachella Valley Canna Week
One of the core goals of Coachella Valley Canna Week is education.
For Elisabeth, this mission is deeply personal. After spending decades in healthcare, she believes cannabis education is essential for helping people understand how plant medicine can support wellness when used responsibly.
During Canna Week programming, Elisabeth and the Health & Wellness Committee will focus on topics such as:
• Understanding the endocannabinoid system
• Cannabis and healthy aging
• Safe cannabinoid use and dosing
• Education for patients and caregivers
• Bridging cannabis with traditional healthcare conversations
By bringing medical professionals, educators, and advocates together, Canna Week creates a space where communities can ask questions, learn, and explore how cannabis fits into the broader wellness landscape.
From Healthcare Professional to Cannabis Educator
Elisabeth’s journey into cannabis began unexpectedly.
After a bicycle accident that required shoulder surgery, she was introduced to cannabis through a CBD massage during recovery. What began as curiosity quickly evolved into deeper research into cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system, a regulatory system in the body that helps maintain balance across many physiological processes.
As she learned more, Elisabeth recognized how little education existed for patients and healthcare providers alike. That realization inspired her to transition her career toward cannabis education and advocacy.
Today she works to help people better understand cannabinoids, lifestyle factors that support the endocannabinoid system, and how cannabis can be incorporated into wellness routines responsibly.
Cannabis, Lifestyle, and Healthy Aging
One of the key themes Elisabeth brings to Coachella Valley Canna Week is the role cannabis may play in supporting healthy aging.
As people age, they often face challenges related to sleep, inflammation, stress, and chronic pain. Cannabis education can help individuals understand how cannabinoids may support these systems when paired with healthy lifestyle habits.
Elisabeth emphasizes that cannabis should be seen as one part of a larger wellness picture that includes:
• Nutrition and whole foods
• Movement and exercise
• Quality sleep
• Stress management
• Social connection
Supporting the endocannabinoid system through lifestyle choices and plant medicine can help individuals maintain balance and improve quality of life.
Expanding the Conversation Around Cannabis
Events like Coachella Valley Canna Week are designed to expand the conversation around cannabis beyond the traditional industry audience.
By focusing on health, education, and community outreach, CVCAN is helping normalize conversations around cannabis and providing opportunities for people to learn directly from educators and professionals in the field.
Through the Health & Wellness Committee, Elisabeth and her colleagues are working to ensure that cannabis education remains accessible, science-based, and focused on patient well-being.
