Returning to New York After 20 Years
It had been nearly 20 years since I last visited New York. After my grandparents passed, I hadn’t returned—but this summer’s Revelry Buyers Club gave me the perfect reason to come back. I used to spend summers and holidays upstate, and being back stirred something deep in me: the lush greenery, the historic homes, the energy of the city—it was all exactly how I remembered, and yet totally new.
Thanks to a press pass from Zoe Wilder, I made the trip and found myself at one of the most electric and well-attended shows I’ve been to in a long time. From the minute the doors opened, the space was buzzing. The New York market is pulsing with momentum—so much passion, purpose, and creativity.
Standout Brands from the East Coast (and Beyond)
What really stood out was the mix of brands—from West Coast legends to New York’s rising stars. Some of my favorite East Coast discoveries included:
DaySavers - Custom NYC cones made with ultra-fine paper. Super cute and functional.
Jenny’s New York & Alibi - Both women owned brands brought flavorful, smooth pre-rolls that stood out.
Soft Power Sweets - A chocolate company with a 25+ year legacy that entered cannabis to support local farms. Their chocolate-covered strawberry gummy? Incredible.
Layup - Their Strawberry Lemonade was one of my favorite beverages at the event—bright, crisp, and totally refreshing.
Poker Toker - I finally met the owner! I’ve been obsessed with this tool. I gave my only one to June and lost mine on the way home, so I’ll be placing an order soon—and you should too.
1937 - A brand I hadn’t seen in years. Great to see them still repping strong.
The Drop - Beautiful, terpene-rich flower. I would definitley pick this up when I am in NY.
Rove - That Applejack Sativa vape? Fire. Their merch is also unmatched—stylish and consistent every time.
PlugPlay - Came through with some fun branded goodies I loved.
Weedmaps - Gifted me the most adorable turquoise-and-black swirl socks—already in heavy rotation.
WANA - Delicious and effective gummies with minor cannabinoids. That fanny pack? So cute and perfect for travel days.
Jetty - Bright and colorful vape and great to see their incredible Dablicator make it to the NY market - I love taking mine with me on the go when smoking or vaping isn't an option.
A Joyful Reunion of Industry Friends
The vibe was pure connection. I saw so many familiar faces and got to reconnect with people I truly admire, including:
GoldenBanana
Angie from Distro
Lauren with CushCards
Joe
Jessica and Nish from Rove
Marianne
Lucia from Alibi and Smoke Show
Marty (with one of his infamous Marty Missiles for Ghost)
Justin from Getting Chill
Shelby from Heirloom
Rhiannon Binder from Reup
Gigi, who I first met at Mogu Magu
East Coast Heart, West Coast Roots
What I loved most about Revelry was the mix—legacy and new, East Coast and West Coast, niche brands and major players all showing up with intention and authenticity. Revelry created space for people to really connect. I left energized, hopeful, and full of ideas for what’s next.
