Sex, Drugs, & Perimenopause: Meet Tanya Griffin
At 57, Tanya Griffin has sex every day, microdoses psychedelics with intention, and built oOYes—a sexual wellness brand designed around one truth: pleasure shouldn't come with shame.
"Life is fucking good," Tanya declares. "I do drugs, I have sex every day—and of course we still look great. Fifty is the new 25, baby."
With nearly 20 years in cannabis (including helping scale The Green Solution to $80M in annual sales), Tanya brings unapologetic honesty to conversations most people avoid: perimenopause, hormone therapy, and combining cannabis with psychedelics for better sex.
Why She Started a Sex Brand After Cannabis
After exiting The Green Solution, Tanya invested her own money into oOYes. Why? "I have always had this out-of-control libido," she laughs. "And when I figured the drug part out? Oh my God. That was a win."
Eight years of daily tracking taught her how to dial in "that perfect sweet spot" for multiple orgasms using cannabis, psychedelics, and yes—the right hormones.
The oOYes product line reflects two years of formulation work around terpenes and minor cannabinoids. Every product is named after 1960s music: Start Me Up (Rolling Stones), Groove Grease (Jimmy McGriff), Roll Baby Roll (The Doors).
Her must-have? Unplugged silicone lube—FDA-cleared, no cannabinoids, just pure slip. "Young and old, even if it's a hand job—you need silicone lube."
The Perimenopause Truth Your Doctor Won't Tell You
"At 48, you're coming into perimenopause. It fucks your shit up," Tanya tells host Ishqa. "Your body's like a broken faucet—different every day. It affects your sleep, mood, and sex drive."
Her blunt advice? Get your estrogen.
"For almost 30 years, the FDA told women estrogen will give you a heart attack and breast cancer. That fear-mongering robbed an entire generation. Just like they took cannabis from us, they took estrogen."
Tanya's Hormone Protocol
Progesterone IUD: Stops irregular bleeding. "Progesterone is that sister that balances things out."
Topical Estrogen: "Throw out the applicator. Get familiar with your pussy. Put it on your fingers, rub it all over your clitoris, urethra, then slide it back in. All over your face, under the eyes, on the neck. Estrogen is a growth hormone. You want that growth on your skin."
Oral Estrogen (1mg): Taken intentionally with cannabis or microdose LSD.
Why Estrogen + Cannabis = Magic
"Estrogen is the happy sister," Tanya explains. "When it hits the endocannabinoid system, it literally picks up the THC and makes you feel fucking groovy."
Women metabolize THC three times faster than men. "Cannabis is a drug that was made for us. It doesn't make us mean. We can manage kids and work while we microdose and remain calm, cool, and collected."
Microdosing Psychedelics: What Actually Works
Tanya has strong opinions on LSD vs. psilocybin for sex.
"Psilocybin is less predictable. I have less control. Psilocybin takes me for a ride where I can take LSD for a ride."
For first-timers: Start with 10 micrograms LSD (about a quarter tab). "People get handed a whole tab, the floor starts moving, trees are talking. They're uncomfortable and never try again. They did it wrong."
What psychedelics do: enhance all five senses, stop mental noise, fire up neuroplasticity, and flood you with serotonin and dopamine.
"If nothing else happens but the noise stops pounding through your head, you're done. That's the win."
MDMA for Couples: The 3-Day Protocol
Tanya calls MDMA "the perfect drug for couples"—when dosed correctly.
Common mistake: "MDMA's first job is to make you nauseous. If you don't dose correctly, you're sick and never try again."
The key: Titrate doses over the session. "Less is NOT more with MDMA. You need your sweet spot—maybe three doses with timers."
Plan three days:
Day 1: 6-8 hour intimacy session
Day 2: Recovery (stay in bed, watch films, cuddle)
Day 3: Back to normal, intimacy restored
"You're loving life so hard. You love your partner. It's a big talking drug. The oxytocin flows, touch feels incredible for hours."
Tanya's Drug Stacking Formula
Her MDMA sessions include:
Viagra/Cialis (keeps erections strong)
Microdose LSD (elevates all senses)
Cannabis edibles (timed for onset)
Infused pre-roll (right before sex)
"Understanding contraindications is critical. You're stacking drugs—you need to know what mixes well."

Breaking Shame for the Next Generation
As a mother of five (including a trans child), Tanya's parenting centers on eliminating shame.
"Our job is not to meet our children with shame. You must live your authentic self. If enough of us show this is authentic living, others will follow."
She kept talking about sex and drugs in front of her kids despite protests. "Eventually they're like, it's just that crazy mom. She's gonna keep talking about sex. Not only do I talk about it—I do it."
For difficult conversations: "Start with 'I don't really know how to talk about this, but we're going to anyway.' Kids need to know they don't always need to know what to say to come to you."
Aging Without Apology
"Fifty is the new 25. At 58, life is even better than 48," Tanya insists.
She rejects anti-aging culture: "We don't need Botox. People living their best life, understanding what they put in their body, what they eat, how they exercise, who they fuck—they look very young."
Her icons? Demi Moore (62), Jane Fonda (86), Cher (80 and "fucking a 30-year-old").
"The wisdom you carry forth is empowering if you live it. But we're also beautiful. Drop dead gorgeous."
