Getting the Hang of This Gypsy Life

I think I am getting a hang of this gypsy life babes. After grieving everything that happened in Mexico with my family I have been blessed with some really healing spaces since. Each held a different space I needed, a lesson to be learned to continue moving forward.
Las Vegas: Getting Back to Work
The work I needed to dive into, remember what I love doing and what I am great at. That it's time to pour more into my consulting and find new ways to keep helping the businesses I want to see grow do so. It was non-stop action and a much needed distraction. It was great to keep up the clean eating I was doing in Mexico and walks because for whatever blessed reason it was mostly only in the 90's while I was there. Time with another sweet puppy who would wake up each morning and bring me his dolly... animals always know when you need sweetness. Hikes through the Red Rocks and a newfound love for wading pools - it calmed the storm within and was hard to leave but very much time to go home.
San Diego: Coming Home
Flying in to California I felt the familiar joy of going home. My first 24 hours I got to briefly see two of my favorite people on the planet and then I was alone for 3 days and slept nearly all of them. This home is like being at home with family - complete with bedtime routines, walks with the dog, and dinner at the table. I got to teach my niece how to use her sewing machine and make Barbie clothes and Safi and I worked during the day, smoked outside at night and planned the return of Babes in the Bay 5. My little chihuahua buddy kept me company and I kept him fed three times a day instead of 2 - don't tell dad.
Highland Park: Turning Grief Into Fuel
Alone for 10 days in a house with a garden that is the unicorn, rainbow, disco and art filled version of my old apartment - complete with two perfect cats. I cried here. Finally tears of release and the grief for what was supposed to be. I wrote and shared with you the limbo I felt.. and then as things happen in the homes of alchemists I released it all and turned it into fire. Fuel for what is yet to come - The Road Trip. Lilli also was reignited when she drove through Texas in late July and was an inch from facing 20+ years in federal prison for an empty gram of concentrates. This was BEFORE the new law passed.
Costa Mesa: Laughter, Work & a Little Magic
I got to stay two weeks with my witches and it was wonderful. My friend Santa Monica and her two beautiful and hysterical daughters opened their home to me and I don't know the last time I laughed so hard - regularly. I also got A LOT of work done here. Babes in the Bay was just a couple weeks away when I arrived and there was a lot of marketing to do and brands to pitch. Fortunately I was reminded how many people genuinely look forward to the event and even willing to drive a few more hours to be a part of it.
"Will you get me a Cactus Cooler?"
"No, because you aren't cool."
"That's not funny"
Oh but it was and I burst into hysterical laughter. I felt like I was in my old foster home. The banter, the love, the bathroom getting taken right before you are about to use it. The food made with love and the space to simply be. Beautiful sunset walks and snails with the strangest behavior... and three of the funniest cats I have ever met - Vladimir Chaos Hellfire, Goblin Deez Nutz Candace Percival the 3rd and Maurice. Time here went so quickly.
San Diego: Birthdays and Babes in the Bay
Before I knew it, it was time to head back to San Diego for my birthday dinner at LEILA (highly recommend) and for the big event! One of my favorite things about Babes in the Bay is the ability to use all the products and gadgets and other merch I am blessed with. Whether it's used for creating content, giveaways or simply to use it's always been a great way to make sure nothing just collects dust. Safi and I had some great giveaways and half of our guests went home with prizes in addition to the goodies the brands were providing. I don't want to go too much into the event because we will have a separate post with all our content but it was another really amazing day of community and I couldn't be more grateful.
The day ended with dinner with a friend I have known since before I started The Canna Boss Babes. It was funny looking at him from across the table and thinking of dreams I once held and how sometimes we never know what someone will mean to us when we meet them. He is like the sun - warm, constant, completely untouchable, I can't imagine life without him, delight in his success and wish all his dreams come true. Sometimes it breaks my heart a little but better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. We are very much in our risking it all phase.
Las Vegas: Back to Gypsy Life
The drive back was quick and we were all exhausted after Babes in the Bay. I'm here a month on my own with a lot of work to do for clients and the tour but so far the week has been productive and with the space to myself I can work any hours needed, get some wading pool time and next week see a couple friends who are coming out for Champs. You won't find me in attendance - too many babes with horror stories for me to support the show but I look forward to dinner with a couple of my faves.
I will be heading back to California for The Network Show September 23-24th. If you are a brand in CA and you aren't exhibiting WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! It's the #1 B2B show for the licensed cannabis industry and where the deals are done!
After Network I am heading up to Humboldt - although there is a small chance I will be in Long Beach for a month... stay tuned and I will keep you babes posted.
